Callahan Ruiz
Graduate in Communication, Advertising and Public Relations, and also in History at the UdG. Film critic and columnist. Short film maker since 2004 as a scriptwriter and director, a format with which he has garnered numerous awards. In 2013 he created the comedy web series Scalleti; Girona connection, 2nd best web series of the year on the digital portal VER TELE, and included in the Top 10 of the RETWITMAD awards for the best web series of 2013, and finalist in the I FEW 2014, being nominated in the categories of best comedy and best direction.
Founding member of the production company Factoría Corman and co-director of ‘Acocollona't, Setmana de cinema fantàstic i de terror de Girona’. In 2014 he published his first novel, El Crit de les Ultracoses , a finalist for the UPC Science Fiction Novel Prize and a finalist for the 2016 Ictineu Science Fiction Novel Awards. In 2019 he released his first feature film, Sant Martí , a black humour slasher film that has won a dozen awards and been selected internationally. The film can be seen on the Planet Horror platform, one of the Movistar + channels. In 2023 he will release his second film, El sabater d’Ordis , a dreamlike, surreal and intimate story that adapted Balada del sabater d’Ordis (Carles Fages de Climent), one of the key works of Catalan poetry.
