Julio Mazarico

Julio Mazarico was born in Tudela in 1969. An industrial engineer, after working for 15 years in the field of information technology, he created an audiovisual training and production studio in 2015 and a production company (Escorzo Films) since 2009.
With this company he writes, directs and produces all kinds of audiovisual works for institutions and companies as well as his own fiction projects such as short films and feature films. He has written and directed more than 20 short films, including Botones, Volver a nacer and Infiltrados, selected and awarded at national and international festivals. He co-wrote the documentary feature El viaje de Unai, by Andoni Canela, and co-wrote Entre Montañas, by Unai Canela, a feature film selected in the Made in Spain section of the latest edition of the San Sebastian International Film Festival.
In 2021, he premiered Surcos, his first feature-length fiction film, an unconventional project that was born from a sociocultural activity with non-professional actors over 60 years of age. He is currently developing the project Marta y Sara, which will be his second feature-length fiction film, a story that looks at the world of education and high intellectual abilities, which has already received support from the Innova research program of Fundación La Caixa and Fundación Caja Navarra, and has been a beneficiary of the Generazinema Development and Production call from the Government of Navarra. The project is in the financing search phase in order to be able to film in 2025.
Julio Mazarico is the director, co-writer and producer of Voices of silence.
