Biofilmography

Gabriel Beitia Beitia studied Business Administration, though he soon discovered his true calling was storytelling. After training in acting at Cristina Rota's school, he decided to take the plunge into film directing and studied Film Direction at the TAI school in Madrid.

​

Shortly after, he began filming his own projects with whatever resources he had available. Without significant budgets, often using simple fluorescent lights for lighting, he always maintained an unwavering determination to film and continue learning.

​

Step by step, he built a career in short films. Among his works, 21 con 40 (21 with 40), written and directed with his friend Susan Béjar, stands out. It became the most-watched short film in the history of Notodofilmfest, accumulating over 20 million views. Together, they also wrote and directed Cambio de Planes (Change of Plans) and Vuelo Cancelado (Cancelled Flight), both finalists in the festival.

Later came Locas (Crazy Women), an adaptation of the work by José Pascual Abellán. This project also marked the beginning of his collaboration with actress Rocío Marín, with whom he has worked on several occasions since.

His stories are often populated by imperfect, contradictory, complex, or seemingly simple characters, always in dialogue with a social reality that he explores through comedy, suspense, or drama.

​

He is currently developing new projects while preparing his first feature film, a story that inevitably bears his signature style.
