Lluís Miñarro
Born in Barcelona, Lluís Miñarro has produced more than 40 highly original films, winning 140 awards at the most prestigious international festivals, including the Palme d'Or in Cannes (2010), the Crystal Globe in Karlovy Vary and the Tiger Award in Rotterdam.
As a director, he has made Familystrip (2009) and Blow Horn (2009), as well as the feature films Stella Cadente (2014), Love Me Not (2019) and Emergency Exit (2025), his last film.
Since 1989, with her producer Eddie Saeta, she has collaborated with renowned directors such as Manoel de Oliveira, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Naomi Kawase, Albert Serra, Lisandro Alonso, José Luis Guerín and Marc Recha. Miñarro has also supported emerging filmmakers.
He has been a member of the jury at festivals such as Locarno, San Sebastián, Buenos Aires, Munich, Karlovy Vary and Nara. His work has been exhibited in art galleries and museums such as the MoMA, the Tate Modern, the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum and the film libraries of Mexico, Tangier or Lausanne, among others.
In 2010, he received the Ciudad de Barcelona Award for his commitment to the arts.
